Authorities now have confirmed that a late-night warehouse fire in Madison on May 24th 2008 has killed a security offficer.
Madison Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Birdwell says the blaze reported shortly after midnight destroyed the MidSouth Utility Group building on Celtic Driver.
Birdwell confirmed the security officer’s death, but did not release his name because the fire is under investigation.

An autopsy was also to be performed to confirm the man’s identity because he had no identification on him at the time of his death investigators said.
The roof collapsed during the fire, leaving only rubble by the time the fire was extinguished, investigators said. No firefighters were injured.
Fire officials said that they have not determined the cause of the fire yet but numerous angencies are now involved and trying to determine if it was accidental or possibly set.
