A security guard shot out the back windshield of a car Thursday night, sending broken glass all over the interior of the car and injuring some children in the backseat.
It happened police said at around 11:55 p.m. at the Silvercreek Apartments in the 3200 block of Mangum.
Houston police said the security guard got into an argument with a man at the back of the complex. The guard had told the man to leave the property, who intially refused.
The car, which HPD said has darkly tinted windows, then headed to the front and refused to stop at the gate, and at that point, for reasons the police have not determined yet, the security officer shot at the car, shattering the back windshield.
HPD Officer Brian Evans said some glass hurt people inside the vehicle.
According to HPD, children, possibly three were taken to an area hospital for treatment but they do not know the extent of the injuries.
Right now, police are investigating the circumstance of the gunfire and are not sure if charges will be brought. Police are not releasing any names at this time.
