Security officers working the local festival this week-end said that several people were asked to leave the beer tent after causing a disturbance.
A father and son were arrested Saturday night at the John C. Fremont Days beer garden after causing a disturbance, Fremont Police said.

Jeffrey Christian, 51, of Fremont and Anthony Eckmann, 23, of Lincoln each were charged with disorderly conduct, a Class III misdemeanor.
Lt. Jeff Elliott said officers were called to the beer garden at 10:47 p.m. when Christian was escorted by security officers out of the beer garden because he was accused of causing a disturbance.
Elliott said Christian went back into the beer garden to find his son and both men called the officers names and causing a disturbance when city police tried to investigate.
Both were taken into custody and later released with a court date.

Authorities said that they responded to a reported robbery attempt of an armored truck and a Reno man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of trying to rob the vehicle with a fake bomb, officers said.
Tyler Walery, 39, was booked into the Washoe County Jail after the 12:20 p.m. incident that temporarily shut down a SaveMart Supermarket and surrounding stores in northwest Reno.
The suspect is accused of placing a device on the hood of the armored vehicle and threatening to blow it up if security personnel failed to hand over money.
The crew subdued him and held him at gunpoint outside the SaveMart until officers arrived.
A bomb squad later determined the device was some sort of electronic equipment, police said.
Walery was booked on suspicion of attempted robbery with an explosive.

www.privateofficer.com A police spokesman said that a security officer at a west Phoenix Walmart was shot in the leg during a purse-snatch Monday afternoon.
At this time police are conducting a search for three suspects who they say are on the loose and may still be in the area, according to an official.
This happened at about 1:45 p.m. at the Walmart store near 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road.
A police official said the injury to the guard does not appear to be life-threatening.
A witness said that he watched the security officer talk to the suspects, then there was a struggle for the purse.
A black 4-door car drove up at which point a gun was pointed out the window and the guard was shot.
The car left and two other suspects fled on foot north on 35th Avenue.
The security officer was transported to an area hospital as officers continued to conduct a search for the shooters.
There was no information available on the condition of the purse snatching victim.

For the third time in recent weeks, the local Wal-Mart in Missouri City has been the target of shoplifters.
In the most recent incident three youth were reported taking a number of items from the store.
When police were called to the store at 5501 Highway 6, the youth were issued citations and released into the custody of their parents.
In two prior shoplifting incidents, a woman was arrested after store security officers observed her putting a top, shorts, lip stick and air freshener in her purse and a man was arrested and jailed for taking several Blue Ray CDs valued at $104.
According to Michelle Burleson, records technician for MCPD, shoplifting is a Class C offense, with thefts under $50 issued citations

Charlotte NC
Quick work by police helped them nab a pair of robbery suspects Sunday evening at a Target store in east Charlotte.
Police say they were called shortly before 9:30 p.m. about a robbery taking place at the Target in the 8800 block of Albemarle Road, near Harrisburg Road.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that the two suspects were still inside the store. The two were taken into custody without incident, and police say they recovered weapons. No injuries were reported.
It is not known if customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery.

Randolph NJ
• Sgt. Chris Giuliani and Officers Brain McGaughran and Richard Biase on June 29 responded to the Kmart store on a shoplifting complaint. The man had fled the store after being approached by security officers. He is described as a young white male, 5′7 tall. The loss to Kmart is in excess of $1,500.

NATICK MA – A Natick woman was arrested Saturday at 9:10 p.m. at J.C. Penney, police said.
Ellen Thompson, 55, of 9 Hampshire Drive, was arrested on charges of shoplifting items worth more than $100, and possession of a Class E substance, prescription pills, police said.

MILLVILLE NJ

Doneysha T. McCullough, 25, of the first block of Chestnut Ave., Vineland, was charged Sunday with shoplifting at Target on North 2nd Street.

Red Bluff CA

George Franklin Gifford, 22 and Thor Crom Szalai, 18, both of Red Bluff, were arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on charges of buglary.
Shortly after noon, Wednesday, a loss prevention officer from Wal-Mart reported two males had been placed uner citizen’s arrest for shoplifting. One of the males however fled from the store on foot. While investigating the case the RBPD was able to locate the suspect who fled in the store’s parking lot.

Stephen Field, Cottonwood, was issued a citation for shoplifting and released after alledgely stealing items valued at approximatley $12 from Raley’s supermarket around 11:30 a.m., Wednesday according to the RBPD.

VINELAND NJ

Valente S. Garcia, 27, of the first block of North Third Street, was charged Sunday with shoplifting three compact discs valued at $43.97 from Kmart on South Delsea Drive.

NEWBURYPORT MA

Leah Olivieri, 19, 8 Drew St., Newburyport, was arrested Sunday at 6:17 p.m. and charged with shoplifting. Officer Michael Wilichoski made the arrest on Storey Avenue.

Kosciusko MS. Christopher Allen Styron, 22, of Kosciusko, was charged first offense shoplifting goods from Wal-Mart Supercenter on Veterans Memorial Drive

Officer Goodman,was dispatched to the 400 Blk. of Hwy 82. in reference to a shoplifter. While at the location. two females were checked for warrants that were with the parties accused of shoplifting. The two females both had city warrants. Both were arrested and booked in at Grayson county Jail for the warrants. Warrants

Morgan McLemore, 18, of the 100 block of Commerce Street, was arrested and released with a shoplifting summons for taking $52.78 of merchandise from K-Mart on South Delsea Drive.

Ontario CA
A man is accused of stuffing meat into his clothing at Rome’s Independent Grocer Thursday afternoon.
He was nabbed by store security outside the Great Northern Road store.
James Augustin Syrette, 35, of 44 Nebengashing Rd., was charged with theft under $5,000.
His court date is July 28.

Kinston

Tallahassee FL police are looking for juveniles who they say stole a significant amount of merchandise from Macy’s at Governor’s Square Mall.The theft happened earlier this morning, said Lt. Jim Montgomery of the Tallahassee Police Department.
Officers chased the youngsters to the parking lot of K-Mart across Apalachee Parkway.

FRANKLIN MA- A Franklin man was arrested at 11:16 a.m. yesterday at 251 E Central St., police said.James F. Hadayia, 44, of 154 Glen Meadow Road, was charged with shoplifting by asportation and possession of a Class D substance, marijuana, police said

Woman faces armed robbery chargesPolice arrested a Flint woman, 39, on July 24 at Wal-Mart after she tried to steal a dozen DVDs. A shoplifting arrest escalated to charges of armed robbery after the woman tried to flee the store through a fire exit only to find Wal-Mart employees gathering shopping carts on the other side of the door. Police said the woman reached into her purse and said she had a gun. Loss prevention personnel took her into custody. No gun was found, police said.

Officer Joshua Miktarian was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop on Glenwood Drive at approximately 2:00 am. Approximately two minutes after making the initial stop he radioed for assistance. Dispatchers then received several 911 calls reporting gunshots. Responding officers located Officer Miktarian. He was flown to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect was arrested a short time later by members of the Bedford Heights Police Department.
Officer Miktarian had served with the Twinsburg Police Department for 11 years and also served as a part-time officer with the Uniontown Police Department.
He is survived by his wife, who is also a police officer, and 3-month-old daughter.

TWINSBURG, Ohio –

A Twinsburg police officer was shot and killed during a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
Officials said 33-year-old Joshua Miktarian, of Talmadge, had pulled a car over in the 2400 block of Glenood Drive near Route 91 at about 2 a.m. when he was shot.
Police said Miktarian called for backup and Ashford Thompson, 23, fled and shot at the officer.
Officer said Thompson was pulled over because Miktarian heard loud music and thought Thompson might have been driving under the influence.
Dispatchers tried to reach Miktarian, and at the same time, a nearby resident called 911 reporting hearing shouting and a popping sound.
The K-9 officer was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The German Shepherd was in the car during the shooting.
After an extensive manhunt, Thompson was arrested by Bedford Heights Police. A weapon was recovered upon his arrest.
Thompson is currently in Summit County Jail awaiting charges and a court appearance on Monday.
Police said that when they took Thompson into custody, he was still wearing a handcuff that had been attached by Miktarian.
Miktarian leaves behind a wife and 3-month-old daughter named Thea. His wife is a police officer in Oakwood Village.
Miktarian was also a part-time officer in Uniontown and owner of the pizza franchise Gionino’s Restaurant on Old Route 8 in Northfield. He was a guitarist in a rock band called “Barium.”
