Police announced that they had made two shoplifting arrests this week as a result of complaints by loss prevention agents at two area stores.
Police announced that they had made two shoplifting arrests this week as a result of complaints by loss prevention agents at two area stores.
Jose Luis Ramirez-Delgado, 25, of 2647 N. Rutherford Ave., Chicago, was arrested July 5 at Kohl’s, 4220 N. Harlem Ave., and charged with retail theft. Security agents for Kohl’s told police they saw Ramirez-Delgado conceal items from the athletic, boys’ and shoe departments in a Kohl’s bag and leave the store without paying. He was escorted to the store’s security office, where items valued at $491.99 were recovered from him, according to police reports. Bond for Ramirez-Delgado was set at $1,000. He is scheduled for an Aug. 25 court appearance.
Arra Castro, 22, and Krystalyn Castro, 23, both of 2539 N. 73rd Ave., Elmwood Park, were arrested July 5 at Carson’s, 4200 N. Harlem Ave., and charged with retail theft. Security agents for Carson’s told police they saw the two women switching higher amount price tags on items for lower amount tags. They paid just $96.73 for 11 items valued at $458.95, causing a loss of $362.17 for the store, according to police reports. Bond for each was set at $1,000. They are slated for Aug. 25 court appearances.
