Police, security, capture robbery suspect http://www.privateofficer.com

DALLAS TX July 26 2008
A customer making a deposit at the Wells Fargo in Oak Cliff was robbed and shot at gunpoint this morning.
The alleged gunman, Riley Demond Harris, ran from the bank at 5801 Marvin D. Love Freeway, but an off-duty police officer in a drive-through lane and a uniformed security officer from inside the bank both heard the shots and chased after the suspect as paramedics were called.
The bank borders the Dallas Executive Airport, where the Dallas Police houses its helicopter. Officials said within minutes police tracked the man both on the ground and from the air.Harris allegedly dropped the gun halfway through the foot chase, but was nabbed by police after a brief struggle over the money. The victim, David Wells, is a Dallas bail bondsman.
He has also worked as a security guard for some well-known North Texans, including former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irvin.
Police are calling the robbery an ambush. Officials believe the suspect knew Wells would be making a deposit and was waiting for Wells when he pulled up to the bank.
Wells went to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg and was released later in the afternoon.
Harris is charged with one count of aggravated robbery of a business, because the money belonged to Wells’ bail bond company. No one else was hurt.
