Man bites off cousins ear, eats it www.privateofficer.com

A La Marque man is recovering after police say his cousin bit off and swallowed his ear. La Marque Police Sgt. Waggoner says the two men had an argument early over the weekend that turned physical.

Authorities say that they were called round 3 a.m. Sunday, and police responded to a 911 call from from a man with a severed ear.

According to police, Sandford and his cousin, Ryan Bedard, got into a fight during which Bedard bit his Sandford’s ear.

Their family says after Bedard bit down, he ripped the ear off his cousin’s head.

Fire and EMS as well as police were dispatched and discovered that Sanford’s ear had been totally severed.

Family members say the men grew up together and have a strong relationship which somehow turned bloody over the weekend. According to family, the pair went out parting on Saturday night with Bedard’s girlfriend.

On the way back home Sandford reportedly tried to stop an argument between the suspect and his girl friend.Sandford was taken to University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. According to his family it does not look like doctors will be able to reattach the ear.

Bedard has been charged with aggravated assault. His bond is set at $80,000.
