ROGERSVILLE TN — It was bad timing for alleged shoplifter Cody Ray Stapleton, who was allegedly spotted by a Rogersville police officer early Monday leaving Wal-Mart with merchandise stuck in his pants.
The item turned out to be a can of computer dust remover.
Rogersville Police Department Officer Ron Skelton stated in his report he was on routine patrol and speaking to a store employee at the entrance to the Wal-Mart store on Route 66 when he spotted Stapleton, 22, 228 BullsGap/St. Clair Road, Bulls Gap, attempting to exit the store.
“I gave a verbal command for the male subject to stop,” Skelton said. “At this time I asked him what he had concealed in his pants. He proceeded to remove a can of ‘Clean Safe’ dust remover from the crotch area of his pants.”
Skelton said he told Stapleton he was under arrest for shoplifting and for him to put his hands behind his back, but Stapleton refused.
When Skelton attempted to place Stapleton’s hands behind his back, Stapleton allegedly pulled away and attempted to break for the door.
At that point Skelton “assisted the male subject to the ground, and after a brief struggle was able to place hand restraints on him.”
Stapleton was charged with theft under $500 and resisting arrest. He is scheduled for arraignment in Hawkins County Sessions Court on Sept. 3.

Naples Fla

GRAND THEFT; K-Mart, 4383 Ninth St. N. A 16-year-old juvenile was arrested by detectives investigating the theft of merchandise

Valdosta GA
Jerrod McGee, 20, of Madison, Fla., and a juvenile were arrested at 5:57 p.m. for shoplifting a DVD and a CD, valued at $34, from a store on Inner Perimeter Road, according to police reports. McGee was also charged with interference of an officer, according to reports.

Taunton MA
Brian McCarthy, 18, of 635 Seekell St., East Taunton, was arrested at 2:10 p.m. and charged with shoplifting from the Galleria Mall

Clayton May, 19, of New Bedford, was arrested at 7:35 p.m. and charged with shoplifting from the Galleria Mall.

Wilkes PA
A Wilkes man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being caught shoplifting in Wal-Mart. Police report they were called to the store shortly after 2pm. Loss prevention personnel had detained 28-year old David Isaac Johnson of Wilkesboro. He had been seen putting a number of items in his pants pocket and walking out of the store without paying. The items included two CO-2 bottles, a holster, an air pistol, and pellet ammunition. Total value is over 100-dollars. Johnson was charged with larceny, and jailed under a 500-dollar secured bond. All the merchandise was returned.


GRAND ISLAND, Neb
A Grand Island woman faces charges after she allegedly crashed her truck into a store while being chased for shoplifting.
Maria Del Carmen-Alvarado, of Grand Island, is accused of hitting a Gordman’s store on Saturday. Police say she was trying to get away from store employees who were chasing her. Authorities says she also grazed a parked car and nearly hit a pedestrian.
Del Carmen-Alvarado was taken to a hospital, where she was treated and then taken into custody.
Police say the case has been referred to the Hall County attorney’s office for criminal mischief and shoplifting three sweaters priced at about $47.

MILLVILLE NJ
Deasha M. Brown, 19, of East Vine Street, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of shoplifting following an incident at Cumberland Crossing shopping center on North 2nd Street. She also had six outstanding warrants. Brown was taken to Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $1,469 bail.

Tyreese A. Harold, 19, of Sewell, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of shoplifting following an incident at Cumberland Crossing shopping center. She also had an outstanding warrant. Harold was taken to CCJ in lieu of bail.

Police arrested two females Tuesday after they allegedly stole $1,079.83 worth of merchandise from Kohl’s on North 2nd Street.

Alice E. Hannah, 51, of Greenwich, was charged with shoplifting and contempt following the incident. She was taken to CCJ in lieu of bail.
A 15-year-old Greenwich resident was also charged with shoplifting following the incident. She was released to her mother.
The stolen items were returned to the store.

EVANSVILLE, IN Evansville police are searching for a woman who they say pulled a knife when confronted about shoplifted merchandise.
It happened around 7:30 Wednesday night at Gordman’s just off the Lloyd Expressway at Burkhardt Road.
Police say the woman and two others picked up clothes and a purse and started to leave when they were confronted by a loss prevention employee.
They say the woman then pulled a knife from her pocket and left the store. Police did not have a description of the suspects

Show Low AZ
- Sidney Dean Harris, 23, of Show Low and Adrianne Tubby, 29, of Show Low were arrested on charges of shoplifting after they reportedly left the Maverik store without paying for a 30-pack of beer. Harris’ alleged shoplifting offense became a felony once police learned he had two prior convictions for shoplifting in the past 13 months. Harris also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Both men were booked and held.

Tammy Lynn Tapia, 38, of Springerville was cited on a shoplifting charge. She reportedly tried to leave Wal-Mart with $87 worth of merchandise.

Vineland NJ
Carl D. Harrison, 48, of the first block of Spruce Street, Bridgeton was charged Aug. 21 with shoplifting from Boscov’s department store at the Cumberland Mall. Harrison was processed and released on a summons

FREMONT CA A local woman was arrested after she attempted to steal an air mattress from a local department store according to police.

Crystal Mills, 34, was charged with theft by shoplifting after store security personnel caught her at the Kmart store located on Oak Harbor Road.
According to Fremont police reports, store employees spotted Mills pass all points of purchase and leave the store with a cart containing the mattress and a container of cole slaw.
A store security agent confronted Mills and escorted her to the security office. The total value of the stolen goods was $106.23.
Police arrived at the store and transported Mills to the station where she was later released pending a court appearance

Jamestown NY
Lester D. Rowland, 21, of Jamestown, was charged with larceny Saturday. Rowland was allegedly caught stealing form the Rite Aid on South Main Street by store security. Officers arrested Rowland and transported him to city jail.

EDWARDSVILLE PA– A man facing charges that he stole fish and meat from a Wilkes-Barre grocery store in May was arrested Wednesday night and charged with stealing from another store.
Raymond John Cordy, 50, of Horton Street, Wilkes-Barre, was charged with two felony counts of retail theft. He was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.
Edwardsville police said Cordy exited Redner’s Market with a garbage bag filled with eight cans of crab meat and two packages of meat products at about 7:30 p.m., according to the criminal complaint.
The value of the merchandise was $250, police said.
A preliminary hearing is tentatively scheduled for Sept. 4 in Central Court.
Cordy is facing several retail theft charges in Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas for allegedly stealing items from Schiel’s Family Market, George Avenue, in May, according to court records.

WILKES-BARRE TWP. PA.
Police arrested three male juveniles, ages 13, 14 and 15, all from Wilkes-Barre, for allegedly shoplifting at JCPenney store at Wyoming Valley Mall around 8 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
According to store security, the juveniles left the store without paying for $248 worth of clothing. They will each be charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.
Two boys, ages 14 and 15, both from Newark, N.J., were arrested for shoplifting at Wal-Mart

Supercenter at Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
Store security told police the juveniles left the store without paying for $28.13 worth of merchandise. They were both charged with a summary count of retail theft, police said

Rome GA.
Rome woman charged with shoplifting was released from jail today on $1,350 bail.
According to Floyd County Jail records:

Dorothy M. Morgan, 62, was arrested by Rome police Sunday afternoon at the Kmart Super Center, 1401 Turner McCall Blvd., and charged with shoplifting.
Reports stated Morgan stole a blouse; a shirt; Sponge Bob Square Pants pajamas; Stetson perfume; vanilla musk; and a ribeye steak. The items were valued at a total of $94.81.

Millville NJ
Joskyzei Diaz, 25, of East Park Avenue was arrested Friday for stealing $1,430 from his employer, the Official Time Out bar on East Landis Avenue. He was held at Cumberland County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Police arrested Roberto Conde, 39, of East Cherry Street for shoplifting and three outstanding warrants at 1:30 p.m. Friday. He was held at the county jail on $4,197 bail.

Milagros Feliciano, 31, of South 2nd Street, Millville, was arrested for shoplifting Friday afternoon at Kmart on South Delsea Drive.

Lexington KY
A teen who police say was caught shoplifting now faces felony charges after investigators say he punched an officer.
Police say the 14-year-old boy took 18 dollars worth of candy from the Family Dollar in Paris on Monday. Employees asked the teen to return the candy and wait for police, which he did, until the officer pulled up.
Witnesses say the teenage football player kicked, pushed, and hit the officer in the arm, trying to do whatever he could to get away. the officer was taken to the hospital to be checked out, but is expected to be okay.
The teen is now being held at the Fayette County Detention Center on charges of shoplifting, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer, which is a felony.

BRIDGEWATER NJ—A shoplifter recently swiped more than $1,000 worth of anti-aging cream from a store at the Bridgewater Commons, according to a report released Tuesday by township police
A Bath & Body Works employee told police that someone stole $1,220 worth of skin regenerating serum from the store between 11:30 a.m. and noon Aug. 26, according to authorities.Police said the person got away with 17 containers of the serum, which was displayed on a table in the middle of the store.There are no suspects, police said.According to the Bath & Body Works Web site, the serum is sold under the name of dermatologist Patricia Wexler. The product “boosts skin’s own regenerative powers to diminish the visible signs of aging,” according to the site

Denver CO. A 17-year-old boy was issued a summons for theft Aug. 22 after he was caught stealing sunglasses from an area mall. Officers were dispatched at 11:21 a.m. to JC Penney, 14658 Delaware St., in reference to a shoplifter who had been detained. The store’s security guard stated he watched as the teen put two pairs of sunglasses in his pocket and walked out without paying. He was handcuffed and later released to his parents

NATICK MA- A Framingham woman was arrested Saturday at 3:15 p.m. after police said she shoplifted from J.C. Penny at the Natick Collection.
Liliana Gladys Justiniano, 21, of 6A Interfaith Terrace, was charged with shoplifting of property worth less than $100, police said.Woman arrested on shoplifting charge, warrants

An Everett woman was arrested Saturday at 4:47 p.m. after police said she shoplifted from the Sunglass Hut at the Natick Collection.
April Thibeault, 31, of 14 Staples Ave., was charged with larceny of property worth more than $250 after police said she stole four pairs of sunglasses valued at $2,500.According to police, Thibeault also had a West Roxbury District Court warrant that charged her with failing to appear for jury duty.Police said Thibeault also had a Charlestown District Court warrant charging her with driving without a license and driving an unregistered vehicle.

Kinston NC William C. Galloway, 41, 719 Thompson St., Kinston, misdemeanor shoplifting. Bond: $500.

Jordan Kritz, 19, 141 Brandy Ave., La Grange, Aug. 30, misdemeanor aid and abet/shoplifting. Bond: $500.
Dean Travis Layden, 17, 3827 Random Road, Kinston, Aug. 30, misdemeanor shoplifting. Bond: $500.

New York City NY A security guard at Century 21, the department store at 22 Cortlandt St., stopped a man trying to walk out of the place at 4:26 p.m. Mon., Sept. 1 without paying for a jacket and several pairs of Dolce & Gabbana socks, police said. The suspect, Jerry Gant, 46, was charged with burglary because he was under a “no trespass” order issued on previous arrests at the store, police said

El Mirage AZ.
El Mirage officers responded to the 12900 block of West Thunderbird for a shoplifting call. A 40-year-old Sun City West resident was placed under arrest and transported to Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, along with an additional charge for failure to appear on a driving-under-the-influence case with a $12,605 bond.

Robbery. At about 6:52 p.m., a male subject was walking on El Mirage Road just north of the Walgreens drug store. A male subject drove up in a black Ford and demanded the victim’s backpack. The victim, fearing for his safety, gave the backpack to the subject. The victim’s backpack contained a laptop computer.

Cookeville TN.
Michael Dale Smallwood was cited for Shoplifting and Drug- Paraphernalia at WalMart on S. Jefferson ave.

ST. Charles MD
Charles County Sheriff’s officers responded to Macy’s department store on Mall Circle Dr. in Waldorf for the report of a shoplifter. Investigation revealed the suspect, Roger Wayne Grizzard, 21, of Waldorf, concealed numerous clothing items and attempted to leave the store without paying. He was apprehended by a security guard without incident. Grizzard was charged with theft under $500.

St. Charles IL
• Rosa Elvira Rodriguez, 31, of 122 W. Pomeroy St., West Chicago was arrested Sept. 4 and charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing a pair of black Bongo shoes valued at about $45 from Kohl’s Department Store, according to police.

Mercedes Cuazitl, 26, and Dolores Coaxiola, 30, both of 5300 River Lane in Hanover Park were arrested Aug. 31 and charged with retail theft after allegedly stealing socks, children’s pants and various undergarments with a combined value of about $190 from Kohl’s Department Store.


Ontario CA.
31 year-old Richard Speers of 67 Palace Drive was arrested on the 10th of September at 3 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.00 in relation to shoplifting incident that took place on the 2nd of August around 1 pm when it is alleged that the accused attended at Zellers in the Station Mall and stole a pair of sunglasses. When he was confronted by the store security officer, the accused pushed the officer, threw the sunglasses to the ground and fled. He is to appear in court on the 20th of October.

Oro Valley AZ police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Kohl’s department store, 7785 N. Oracle Road. Store workers had detained a woman who allegedly stole about $850 in store merchandise. Officers questioned the woman, who admitted to placing several items into a black bag she brought to the store with her, according to a police report.
The woman also told officers that she had been arrested on a shoplifting charge in January after taking items from an area Target. She was arrested on a charge of shoplifting and banned from all Kohl’s stores before being released.

police responded to a report of shoplifting at the Kohl’s department store, 7785 N. Oracle Road. Store employees had detained the alleged shoplifter, a female who store workers said had stuffed several junior’s clothing items into her handbag and tried to leave the store. The woman admitted to police that she tried to steal the clothes, according to an incident report. Among the items police recovered were seven shirts and five pairs of shorts worth an estimated $324. Police arrested the woman on a shoplifting charge before releasing her from custody.

PASCO, Wash.–An alert Rite Aid Pharmacy employee helps Pasco police put a shoplifter behind bars. Around 8:00 p.m. Wednesday (September 10th) night, police say 41-year-old Daniel Campbell, had been drinking when he walked into the Rite Aid on North Fourth Avenue, stole two 30 packs of beer and left.
One of the clerks actually followed Campbell out of the store, helping officers track him down. He didn’t get too far.
