http://www.privateofficer.com/ A teenager who assaulted a store securty agent and threw an iPod at a man as he ran from Best Buy security has been taken into custody and arrested.
Tthe fleeing teen had been spotted by a store security officer concealing merchandise in the bathroom, sheriff’s deputies say.
The 17-year-old, charged with misdemeanor retail theft, was caught at the nearby Village Baptist Church parking lot.
Security said he had been in the bathroom’s handicapped stall for ten minutes tearing plastic. When he came out, the teen saw the security agent, threw some packaging at him, elbowed him in the face and ran out of the store, according to his arrest report.
Outside, a witness chased him.

The teen eventually stopped running, threw the iPod and said “Take the iPod. I didn’t want it anyways,” a deputy reported.
He got away on foot butl a deputy responding to the shoplifting call at the Best Buy saw him in a church parking lot and was able to get him in custody.
The teen has been released with a court date and the sheriff’s department did not release his name.
