A New London man faces larceny charges for illegally collecting points in a Foxwoods casino promotional program, police said. Erik K. Smith, 36, of 111 Ocean Ave., was accumulating “Dream Reward,” points to his casino account when he was not entitled to them, police said.
The Dream Card acts as a debit card with points earned by playing slot machines and other games at Foxwoods and MGM Grand at Foxwoods, according to their Web site.
The points are redeemed for a variety of merchandise. Smith is charged with third-degree larceny and criminal attempt to commit first-degree larceny.
Police said they expect more arrests as part of an investigation by the state police casino unit with assistance from the Mashantucket Tribal Inspector General and Foxwoods security staff. Released on bail, Smith is scheduled to appear Oct. 23 in New London Superior Court.
