Two stock workers at Target, at the City Center, were charged with fourth-degree grant larceny, a felony, last night after police said they were caught by store security cameras hiding $1,679 worth of merchandise in stockroom boxes and stealing the items later.
Dequan Edwards, 20, of 127 Morningside Ave., Yonkers, is accused of hiding items on three occasions between Nov. 23 and Dec. 2, while James Montgomery III, 19, of 224 Midland Ave., Yonkers, acted as a lookout. The pair then took the items, police said.
They were released on $250 bail each and are due in City Court on Jan. 5.
Also yesterday, Ramon Menzon of the Bronx, 30, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after security officers at Macy’s in the Galleria mall told cops he stole a total of $1,101 from different registers he was assigned to as a cashier. The thefts took place between Oct. 5 and yesterday, police said.
A total of 11 store workers from seven stores in White Plains have been charged with stealing from their employers over the past three weeks.
