Buffalo cop arrested for assaulting court security www.privateofficer.com

Buffalo Police say that an off-duty officer upset that a vehicle had doubled parked at the city court decided to take the matter into his own hands by punching the driver of the other car.
Officer Michael J. Strobele was arrested Thursday on a charge of third-degree assault after fighting John Stronka, a court security officer authorities said.
Strobele, a 10-year veteran of the force, was off-duty when he and Stronka, of Cheektowaga, fought at about 10 a. m. on Delaware Avenue near West Eagle Street, according to Buffalo police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge.
Strobele, 35, also was charged with second-degree harassment. Stronka, who was not charged, and suffered facial injuries, DeGeorge said.
Police Commissioner H. McCarthy Gipson directed the department’s Professional Standards Division to begin an investigation into the incident. Strobele has been suspended without pay.
