Charleston WV Feb 18 2009
Ethan Samuel Colbert, 18, of Charleston and Breanna Nicole Hall, 18, of St. Albans are being held at South Central Regional Jail on felony drug charges.
Charleston Patrolmen M.F. McMicken and B.T. Clark were called to the Holiday Inn Civic Center on Saturday after hotel workers smelled burning marijuana, according to a complaint filed in Kanawha Magistrate Court. The officers were told the odor was coming from a fourth floor room.
The policemen knocked on the door but no one answered. Hotel personnel then unlocked the door.
McMicken and Clark found four bags of marijuana on a table, and two of the bags contained nine smaller bags, the complaint said. The total weight of the marijuana was about 74 grams. They also found three rocks of crack cocaine and a .22 caliber pistol on the dresser.
A hotel security officer told McMicken and Clark that Colbert and Hall were at the front desk asking for a room key because they’d locked themselves out. The officers waited in the room while the security officer unlocked the door for Colbert and Hall, who were arrested when they entered, the complaint said.
Both were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and simple possession of crack cocaine.
