Repeat offender charged in shoplifting incident http://www.privateofficer.com

A Mesa woman was arrested Sunday in a Target parking lot in Mesa on suspicion of shoplifting multiple times from the store, police said.
Andrea M. McDevitt, 47, allegedly entered the store at 1135 S. Gilbert Road with a large black jacket draped over the child seat of a shopping cart, police said.
The suspect then put health and beauty items, batteries, chargers and an MP3 player in the jacket and attempted to leave the store without paying, police reports stated
McDevitt allegedly cut the electronics off their hooks with small clippers and also had a pocketknife on her, police said.
According to Target employees, McDevitt had been in the store numerous times in the past, police said.
A criminal background check on the suspect revealed that McDevitt was convicted of shoplifting in July 2007 and last August. McDevitt also had an outstanding felony warrant for a probation violation outside of Maricopa County, police said.
Overall, McDevitt faces three counts of shoplifting for the incident Sunday and for two other incidents in mid-February, Mesa police said.
