A quartet of Framingham State College students got caught Saturday trying to steal hundreds of dollars worth of clothing from T.J. Maxx at Shoppers World, police said.
Nicole Girard, 19, of Rowley, Kyla Jordan, 19, of Rehoboth, Erin Hughes, 19, of Oshkosh, Wis., and Colleen Regan, 19, of Upton, were all arrested at 5:20 p.m. when they tried to leave the store with purses stuffed with stolen items, police spokesman Lt. Paul Shastany said.
Store security told police they watched the four women as they shopped, filling each other’s bags full of clothing from the shelves, police said.
When the students tried to leave, security confronted them, brought them back to the store and called police.
The items stolen included underwear, shirts, Spandex clothing, shoes, a small pillow, sunglasses, a scarf and a vest. The total of the stolen goods was $586.
All four women were charged with larceny of property worth more than $250.
Regan, of 5 Victoria Drive, Upton, was also charged with larceny of property worth less than $250 because security saw her steal a dress earlier in the week, Shastany said.
All four pleaded not guilty at their Framingham District Court arraignments Monday and were released without bail.
