http://www.privateofficer.com/ – A shoplifting gone bad has landed a 33-year-old man from Seymour in jail charged with robbery and larceny.
Police say that Kevin Henry is accused of stealing about $160 worth of batteries and cold medicine from the Newtown Road store about 8 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
When two store security officers attempted to stop him outside the store, police say that Henry started swinging and that use of force in the commission of his theft is what elevated his charges to robbery officers said.
Henry was held on a $10,000 bond pending a court arraignment Wednesday in Danbury.
Thieves often target small, expensive items such as razor blades, batteries and cold medicine to resell for a profit on the black market to other stores, according to police.
