April 22, 2009 Atlanta security finds dead cabbie www.privateofficer.com
ATLANTA GA April 22 2009 – An Atlanta security officer heard a crash and went to investigate and found a cabbie that had been shot to death. The security officer notified police who are now investigating the shooting death of the 57-year-old taxi driver in a possible robbery.
Police Sgt. Bob Creasy says the shooting happened at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Richard Allen Boulevard and Fairburn Road in southwest Atlanta. The driver’s name was not immediately released.
Creasy says the driver had been shot once in the back of the head. He died at the scene. He says robbery is a possible motive.
A security guard at Big Bethel Village says the cab crashed into the gate to the retirement community and the security officer found him.
Police are working leads and ask that if anyone has any information on this crime to call crime stoppers or Atlanta police.
