Security personnel at Cottage Hospital called police after a man began causing a disturbance.
They informed officers that the suspect, a 24-year-old man, frequently goes to the emergency room seeking narcotics.
On this particular occasion, the suspect complained of stomach pain. Despite being treated and released, he refused to leave the hospital.
Security officials escorted him off the property, but he turned around and tried to push past them.
Hospital security used pepper spray to subdue the 24-year-old until police arrived. Authorities booked the man into jail on $2,500 bail for disturbing the peace.
