CORDELE GA May 3 2009 — Christopher Harvey of Cordele has been charged with shoplifting and obstruction of an officer.
Harvey allegedly took several items of clothing from the Dollar General Store on 16th Avenue Monday morning.
Store employees identified the alleged suspect when CordelePoliceDepartment officer Bruce Gourley responded to the call. Gourley and several other policemen pursued Harvey on foot and captured him in the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts parking lot.
Harvey was transported to the police department where the charges were leveled against him. Police also discovered he had two outstanding warrants through the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office and the Perry Police Department.
Andreas Bethel Allen age 40 of Sparta, TN was charged with Schedule II Drugs and Shoplifting at J.C. Penny on Dubois Rd after Cookeville Police Declaire responded in reference to a shoplifter who was fighting with store security. Mr. Allen was trying to take items without paying for them when he was stopped and handcuffed by store security. Allen was also found to have Dilaudid pills on him and Allen was also found to have two outstanding warrants. Allen was arrested and transported to Jail
William Scott Arrott age 34 of Cookeville was cited for Shoplifting at Wal-Mart on S. Jefferson Avenue by Cookeville Police Officer Ward after Wal-Mart Lost Prevention told Police Mr. Arrott had tried to take $44.92 worth of toys without paying for them
• LARCENY: Peter J. DiGiacomo III, 22, 6343 Robinson Road, Apt. C3, was charged Tuesday afternoon with petit larceny. A store security officer at Tops on South Transit Road told deputies DiGiacomo tried to leave the store with a cart full of items including Mountain Dew, Juicy Juice, filet mignon and lobster tails, together worth about $577. DiGiacomo was held in lieu of $200 bail and is due May 5 in Lockport Town Court
An Oak Lawn man has been charged with retail theft after a chain saw was stolen from a department store in Chicago Ridge Mall, police said.
Kevin J. Smith, 34, of the 9000 block of South Cicero Avenue was arrested about 2 p.m. Sunday when a security guard reportedly saw him take the saw, valued at $230, from a display in the lawn and garden section before leaving the store without paying for it, police said.

Police say the security guard from the K-Mart at the Springfield Shopping Plaza was punched during the attempted shoplifting.
After the scuffle, the suspect fled the scene empty handed.
He now faces charges of attempted shoplifting and with assault and battery.

Police charge two in casino disturbances www.privateofficer.com
Jeffrey Holminski was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct after getting involved in a verbal dispute with another patron at the Breakers Bar at 11:52 p.m. Friday, according to state police.
Casino security asked him to leave. As he was leaving he stopped “raised his fists and squared off with a security supervisor,” the report stated. He was subdued by security after a struggle.
Charles Holminski, 22, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass around 12:10 a.m. Saturday after he allegedly pushed a patron and did not leave the casino after being evicted by security.

Police,security team up to nab 5 burglary suspects www.privateofficer.com
Police arrested five adults suspected of being on a shoplifting spree at the Lake Elsinore Outlets on Thursday after mall security called for assistance.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, outlet-mall security officers contacted authorities about a burglary in progress at approximately 3:15 p.m. Security said the suspects were removing security sensors in order to steal items from a number of stores. One of the suspects also had a newborn baby with them.
Responding deputies set up surveillance and coordinated the arrest of five suspects in possession of stolen property. Deputies also detained another suspect that they found waiting in a vehicle in the mall parking area.
A search of the car turned up more that $2,000 in stolen clothing, shoes, and jewelry, which was returned to stores.
DeMario Rudd 24, Michelle Rudd 21, Filipina Nelson 18, Jessica Williams 21, and a 17 year old male juvenile, all from Lake Elsinore, were booked for burglary and conspiracy.
The infant with the suspects was eventually turned over to family members.
