Security officer in gunbattle with burglars www.privateofficer.com

Reno NV May 25 2009

Reno Police are seeking help in identifying two suspects in an early morning shooting and vehicle burglary on Wedekind Road.
About 3:35 a.m. today, officers responded to the 1600 block of Wedekind Road, where a security officer with Martin and Ross Security told police a suspect fired several shots at him as he approached a vehicle burglary in progress.
The security officer said he returned fire from his duty weapon. The suspect continued to shoot from the passenger seat as both suspects fled in a silver or gold four-door sedan, possibly a late ‘90s model. A total of 16 rounds were exchanged.
The security officer was not injured and it’s unknown whether either suspect was injured.
Officers have found at least one vehicle in the area that was burglarized.
The suspects are described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and an unknown race male, also wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
