Parolee charged in TJ Maxx robbery www.privateofficer.com
GREENBURGH NY June 2 2009
lohud.com – A local man on parole for robbery was arrested over the weekend in connection with another robbery, police said, this time at a Hartsdale store.
Jahiem Pedrow, 31, was again in jail after he was charged with second-degree robbery and resisting arrest following a confrontation at T.J. Maxx on Central Avenue on Saturday.
Pedrow is accused of becoming physical with a security guard who accused him of shoplifting from the store, police said. He was found Sunday in the parking lot of the Greenburgh Shopping Center on Knollwood Road, police said, and fought with arresting officers.
He was arraigned in Greenburgh Town Court yesterday and held in the county jail without bail. He due in Town Court today.
Pedrow has been on parole since Dec. 12 after serving five years on a second-degree robbery conviction, according to the state Department of Correctional Services. He was in prison from 1998 to 2000 on a second-degree assault conviction.
Pedrow is the brother of Kenyatta Parks, who was fatally shot Aug. 12, 2007, in the driveway of 116 Manhattan Ave., less than a block from his parents’ apartent.
Pedrow was allowed to leave prison under heavy guard to attend the funeral.
The Parks shooting remains an active investigation, but has been stymied by a lack of cooperation from witnesses and an inability to question a “person of interest” who police say they believe was there when he was killed.
