SPENCER, W.Va. June 26 2009 — A criminal complaint shows a Roane County teacher has been charged with soliciting a 13-year-old girl through text messages.
Roane County Magistrate Jason Bennett said Friday that Michael Brohard, 31, of Spencer allegedly made inappropriate comments to the girl on June 19 and 20.
The complaint says Brohard is a teacher and coach at Walton Middle School. Bennett didn’t know what sport Brohard was involved in. He was listed as a fifth-grade teacher on the school’s Web site.
Bennett says Brohard, who was arrested this week, is free on bond and faces a July 6 preliminary hearing.
