HOUSTON TX Aug 7 2009 — An armored truck guard was gunned down Friday morning while putting money in an ATM at a southeast Houston bank.
Two Loomis guards arrived at the Bank of America in the 3600 block of Old Spanish Trail around 8 a.m.
One guard stayed in the truck, while the other loaded the money in the ATM, according to Houston police.
The guard in the truck told investigators he saw two men in bandanas approaching so he shouted at the guard outside.
That man tried to run away, but one of the suspects him shot him in the leg.
He fell to the ground and the gunman walked up and shot him again in the head.
The suspects got away in a silver Chevy Impala. They didn’t get any money.
The guard was rushed to Ben Taub Hospital where he was last reported in stable condition after surgery.
