Public safety officers at John Hopkins Hospital detained a suspicious person on the property and then discovered the man to have illegal drugs on him.Officers placed him into custody at that point.
Police responding to the 900 block of N. Eden St. about noon Monday questioned Vernon Edwards, 40, who told police he was homeless.
Edwards was arrested and officers seized several gel caps containing heroin and powdered heroin.
Edwards was booked into the city jail on an unspeciifed bond amount.
