A security guard’s legs were severely injured after a man hit his car’s gas pedal instead of the brakes inside a parking structure earlier today.
Police did not release the name of the 23-year-old guard or the driver, who was questioned on the scene and released pending further investigation.
Police said the motorist, an 83-year-old Livermore man, plowed his Cadillac into the security guard about 10:30 a.m. inside a parking garage in the 1200 block of Jackson Street in downtown Oakland.
The extent of the security guard’s injuries was not immediately available, but he was listed in stable condition at a hospital, police said.
