Security officer nabs hotel robber www.privateofficer.com
MADISON WI Aug 24 2009 (WKOW) — Police arrested one man after an attempted robbery that occured early Sunday morning at the Super 8 Motel on Madison’s south side.
According to a police incident report, Brandon L. Waddell, 29, entered the Super 8 Motel on the west Beltline highway just after midnight. Waddell approached the desk and asked the clerk about room rates. He then jumped the counter, informed the clerk that it was a robbery, and that he had a gun.
The clerk then grabbed a cane and began hitting and punching Waddell. Waddell jumped back over the counter and left while the clerk ran to another room and called 911. Waddell was confronted by a security guard in the motel’s parking lot and handcuffed until police arrived. He is charged with attempted armed robbery.
