New Orleans, La. Dec 1 2009 – After a New Orleans Police Department detective who was arrested for shoplifting Friday at Lakeside Shopping Center, he retired from the force, according to police.
Sheriff Newell Normand announced the arrest of New Orleans Police detective Don Leduff Saturday, after he was observed shoplifting a bottle of perfume by J. C. Penny’s security personnel Friday afternoon.
Leduff was issued a misdemeanor summons for theft valued under $100, according to police.
He retired from the force the same day that he was arrested, according to New Orleans Police Department spokesman Officer Garry Flot. Leduff retired as a sargeant with more than 30 years on the force, said Flot.
