Teacher arrested in felony shoplifting incident www.privateofficer.com

Spring Hill TN Dec 1 2009 A Columbia teacher who lives in Lawrence County is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars worth of merchandise from a Spring Hill department store. Forty Eight year old Alice Renee Pope, of 109 Chief Creek Road, Lawrenceburg, who a teacher at Columbia Christian Academy was arrested Nov. 7 and charged with shoplifting of more than $500.
According to the Daily Herald, two security officers told Spring Hill police they saw Pope go into Super Target at The Crossings with several reusable shopping bags, according to an incident report.
They told police the woman went into the seasonal section of the store and stuffed numerous items into the bags in a shopping cart.
The report said she placed a Christmas tree in a cardboard box on top of the bags and then left the store. After she was detained, police found she was wanted in Williamson County for violation of probation for a previous larceny arrest at Macy’s. The report identifies Pope as a teacher at “Columbia Christian Academy.”
Columbia Academy President James Thomas declined to discuss the matter.
