Orlando Fla Jan 9 2010 Orange County deputies are investigating the robbery of an armored car outside a Bank of America branch this afternoon, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies were called to the bank at 7220 W. Sand Lake Road about 12:30 p.m. Witnesses told deputies that a white or Hispanic male pulled a firearm on an employee of Loomis Armored Cars. The employee was in the process of carrying two bags of money into the bank, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jeff Williamson said.
The employee gave the man the money bags, and the suspect then fled on foot and left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, Williamson said.
The man is described as standing 5 feet, 6 inches tall and as wearing a black sweatshirt and baggy blue jeans.
