Nightclub security shoot it out with armed man www.privateofficer.com
According to police, Keith Martin Thompson, 29, formerly of Rockland Street, displayed a handgun during an altercation Jan. 2 inside the Mezmerize Lounge, located inside Days Inn at 1492 Lititz Pike. Security officers confronted Thompson and several gunshots were exchanged.
The incident continued outside the establishment, where Thompson and security personnel exchanged more gunfire as Thompson fled in a vehicle, nearly striking a security officer with his car, police said.
Charges were filed last Tuesday before District Judge David Miller, and a warrant was issued for Thompson on charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, persons not to possess firearms and possession of firearm without a license.
Manheim Township Police Sgt. Tom Rudzinski said”this is a guy who is out there, who has a gun and apparently isn’t afraid to use it,” Rudzinski said. “There is a significant danger to the public, and the sooner we can get him in custody the better.” And we need to get him off the street quickly
