A Hamilton County jury found 40-year-old Thomas Phelps guilty of aggravated murder and other charges Tuesday from an incident at the Almost Home bar along Hamilton Avenue.
Phelps gunned down 29-year-old Corey Land while he was working at the establishment on Feb. 9, 2009.
Jurors deliberated for two days before they reached their verdict.
The shooting was prompted by an altercation Phelps had with Land at the bar. After Phelps was thrown out of the establishment, he went home and returned to the bar with a gun.
Jurors watched disturbing surveillance video of the crime during their deliberations. The video shows Phelps chasing Land up and down the bar, firing five shots and eventually killing him.
Phelps was convicted on one count of aggravated murder and two counts of having weapons while under disability.
The charges carry the maximum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Phelps will be sentenced on Feb. 4, 2010.
