WILMINGTON, NC Feb 24 2010 (WECT) – A man from Wilmington faces several charges after an early morning scuffle with a his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend.

Police say Justin Daniel McKeithan, 21, forced his way into his ex-girlfriend’s apartment and stabbed the new boyfriend in the chest twice. The victim was also cut on the hand, before another man restrained him.

During the scuffle, police say McKeithan pepper sprayed another man. After running out of the apartment, police say McKeithan pepper sprayed a security guard and then took off.

Police pulled over McKeithan a short time later. He faces charges of 1st degree burglary,
assault with intent to harm, two counts of intimidating a witness, assault and battery, assault on a female, financial transaction card theft and simple assault.

The stabbing victim is being treated for his wounds.

Police say they also found out the stabbing victim and the ex-girlfriend planned to testify against McKeithan in an upcoming simple assault case. He is being held on a quarter million dollar bond.
