Pasco County, Florida April 7 2010– A drunk driver caused a crash that left an armored car overturned in Pasco County Tuesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The crash happened at Dale Mabry Highway and US 41. Investigators say the armored car flipped over several times after getting hit by a sedan.

Both drivers and a passenger iwere taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for threatment of non life-threatening injuries.

The FHP said the driver of a Chevy sedan, Jose Soto, 27, of Lutz, was charged with driving under the influence, driving with license suspended or revoked, and violation of the right of way.

He allegedly drove into the path of the armored car, which spun around and overturned several times, coming to rest on its side.

The driver of the armored car, Todd Lasio of New Port Richey, and his passenger, identified only as James Ahern, were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital by Pasco County Fire rescue. They suffered serious injuries, the FHP said.

All southbound lanes of Dale Mabry were blocked while the FHP conducted a traffic crash investigation.
