www.privateofficer.com Police are investigating the shooting of an off-duty Jefferson County sheriff’s deputy that happened on Saturday.
Randy Christian, chief deputy for the sheriff’s department, identified the injured deputy as Lee Prather. He was taken to UAB Hospital after police officers responded around 8 p.m.to a shooting in the 800 block of Sixth Way.
Authorities said the shooting is possibly related to a domestic incident involving a father and son and said that the investigation is still on-going.
Prather was treated and released from UAB Hospital following the shooting police said.
No further details were available.
