Task Force Zero is a unit of Alabama State Troopers that specializes in DUI detection. During race weekends the task force conducts patrols around Talladega SuperSpeedway property to enforce traffic laws and apprehend impaired drivers in an attempt to save lives, according to the troopers statement.
The number of DUI arrests by the task force was more than the late October race at Talladega, said Trooper Chad Joiner, a public information officer for the troopers.
During the four-day race weekend in October, the troopers’ task force arrested 83 people on DUI charges, Joiner said.
