At about 11:45 p.m., officers responded to the hotel in the 1400 block of Sixth Avenue. The victim told officers that while she was standing at the front desk a man walked up to her and put his arm around her shoulders. The man reportedly said, “Hey, baby” and ran his hand down her back to her backside, which he grabbed. He then reached between her legs and groped her, police said.
The woman pushed the man away, slapped him and then punched him. She turned away briefly and when she turned back, the man was gone.
Hotel security followed the man and pointed him out to police. He was detained, positively identified and arrested.
The suspect was extremely intoxicated and initially told officers that he thought the victim was his girlfriend. He also claimed that his girlfriend was staying with him at the hotel, but when asked where she was, the man reportedly admitted that he did not have a girlfriend. He also admitted that he lived at home with his mother.
The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of indecent liberties.
