Ga. deputy arrested after SWAT stand-off www.privateofficer.com
Georgia Bureau of Investigation officials said a Paulding County Sheriff’s Office deputy was arrested after becoming combative with officers Sunday morning.
Officials said Paulding County deputies responded to a domestic violence call at a home on Bethnal Way in Douglasville at about 2 a.m. Sunday.
Authorities said Deputy Patric Huston initially refused to communicate or cooperate with responding officers, so SWAT team members were called and Huston surrendered peacefully.
Police said Huston was transported to WellStar Paulding Hospital in Dallas for an evaluation.
At the hospital, deputies said Huston became combative with officers and was booked on felony obstruction of an officer charge.
Officials said alcohol may have been a factor.
Huston was taken to the Paulding County Jail.
The GBI is investigating and additional charges could be pending, officials said.
