The latest security-police news

Sacramento CA Aug 16 2010 A Vanden High School teacher was arrested Tuesday afternoon in Sacramento on suspicion of sexual assault.
Carl Testerman, 43, of Davis, was arrested by Davis Police and booked on suspicion of eight counts of sexual battery, three counts of sexual battery with force and one count of lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 14 years of age. All incidents occurred in Davis, police said.

Davis Sgt. Paul Doroshov said the suspect was arrested without incident and is being held in the Yolo County Jail on a $1 million bail.

He explained that the police department was contacted by a family member of one of the victims earlier this month and upon investigation discovered another victim. The earliest incident occurred in July 2009, according to the police.

The two victims, described as between the ages of 10 to 17, are not students of Testerman — who teaches English and has been employed at the local high school for 19 years — and are not associated with the Travis Unified School District, police said.
