Suffolk County NY Sept 6 2010 A security guard was shot on the Poospatuck Reservation in Mastic early Sunday morning, Suffolk County police said.
The 23-year-old man, who was employed as a security guard for the Smoke Warehouse on Poospatuck Lane, was shot outside the store at 5:50 a.m., police said. Witnesses told investigators that a black sedan, possibly a Chevrolet Malibu, was seen fleeing the area.
The victim was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center where he was listed in guarded condition.
Seventh Squad detectives are continuing the investigation and ask anyone with information on the shooting to contact them at 631-852-8752.
