JACKSON, Miss.Oct 20 2010 — A spokeswoman for the Jackson Police Department said Friday’s fatal shooting in a Walmart parking lot was drug-related.

Police arrested Lee Anthony Corentin, 19, and Alan Palmer, 21, on Sunday. Both men are charged with capital murder in connection with the shooting death of 20-year-old Bruce Davis Jr.

Officer Colendula Green said the men met in the parking lot off Highway 18 in Jackson to buy and sell drugs.

Witnesses said after the shooting that they saw Davis running away from a red car toward a security officer.

Public records show both Corentin and Palmer each have a long rap sheet. Palmer has several charges dating back to last year, including three counts of armed robbery, records show.

Corentin has been arrested on charges of domestic violence and disorderly conduct, records show.

Walmart officials declined to comment on the case because they said it’s an ongoing investigation.

Public records show during the month of September, Jackson police responded to 26 calls at Walmart on Highway 18, ranging from shoplifting to fights breaking out.
