November 22, 2010 Maryland security officer stabbed www.privateofficer.com
Police say Milton Benitez Salvador, of no fixed address, faces charges that include attempted murder and attempted assault. He is being held on a $150,000 bond.
Police say an off-duty officer was working in a second job at the Sabor Latino restaurant on University Boulevard in Adelphi at 12:43 a.m. when he saw Salvador push a security guard while being escorted out of the restaurant.
The officer tried to arrest Salvador after he refused to comply, police say. When the officer tried to handcuff the suspect, police say Salvador stabbed him in the lower abdomen with a large folding knife.
Police say he officer and the security guard were able to place Salvador in custody, and the officer then was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
