A private security guard used pepper spray and a warning shot to quell a South Natomas apartment scuffle, Sacramento police reported today.
The guard went to quiet a noisy gathering in an Azevedo Drive apartment shortly before midnight Friday, according to the police log.
A fight ensued with some of those in the apartment. The guard used his pepper spray after one man punched him in the face.
When a woman approached the guard carrying an empty bottle as though to use it as a weapon, he pulled his gun and fired a shot into the ground, stopping the fight.
No injuries or property damage were reported as a result of the shot.
Albert Johnson, 22, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting the guard and punching him in the face.
