Trio charged in Target Store robbery www.privateofficer.com
Darryl Cannon, 45, of Elyria is charged with robbery and complicity to theft. Shaunte Holley, 36, is charged with receiving stolen property, theft and possession of heroin, and Harry Stevenson II, 60, is charged with complicity to theft.
Officers were called to Target about 8 p.m.
A security officer said he observed a man, later identified as Cannon, remove four video games from the shelves in the electronics department, conceal them in his shirt and leave the store. The guard said he struggled with Cannon as he tried to leave. Cannon then said he was “going to pull his pistol,” according to the report, and motioned to his hip. The security guard said he ran back into the store to avoid being shot.
In the meantime, another officer located the group’s vehicle at Bell Avenue and West River Road and conducted a traffic stop.
All three individuals were ordered out of the car, and no weapons or stolen items were found in the vehicle, the report said.
Police contacted Buy Backs game store and learned that Holley had just sold them three games for $21.50. Officers confirmed they were the same games stolen from Target, a total value of $199.99.
While preparing to book the three at the police station, officers noticed two small yellow bindles containing a brown powder substance on the floor by her feet. Both tested positive for heroin, the report said.
The stolen video games were returned to Target.
