LOUISVILLE, Ky. Jan 22 2011 — A New Albany man was arrested at Louisville International Airport Wednesday afternoon after authorities say he was in possession of guns illegally.

According to police, 38-year-old Michael S. Pridham tried to check in two unloaded shotguns at the customs office at the airport.

Pridham told police that he was going to go to Mexico on a bird hunting trip with his boss and the shotguns were for that purpose.

Police say Pridham is a convicted felon and it is unlawful for him to possess firearms. Fox 41 News has obtained his criminal history, which includes — among other things — charges of assault, robbery and terroristic threatening.

Pridham admitted that the guns were his.

He was charged with the illegal possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
