WOODBURN OR MARCH 21 2011 – Woodburn varsity girls basketball coach Luis Alberto Guevara, 30, was arrested Thursday after Woodburn Police Department detectives uncovered he had an inappropriate relationship with one of his players.
Detectives had been investigating Guevara for the past month and arrested him after allegations he was sending text messages to several of his players. The investigation also revealed Guevara become romantically involved in one of his players, who was 17 years old. Police say Guevara and the student kissed on several occasions, but indicate the relationship didn’t go beyond that.
Guevara is also a teacher French Prairie Middle School in addition to his coaching duties.
Police are asking anyone with any information regarding this case to contact the WPD at 503-982-2345.
