Tallassee, AL April 22 2011 – The former Tallassee assistant police chief was taken into custody and charged with ethics and unlawful use of police information systems charges.
Amy Robertson Davis, 39, of Wetumpka surrendered to authorities Wednesday at the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office according to the Alabama Attorney General’s office. She was booked into the county jail on 40 charges and later released on bond.
An Elmore County Grand Jury indicted Davis on April 13, and she was charged with 15 counts of intentionally misusing her public position for personal gain. Another 25 counts of willfully using the Alabama Law Enforcement Tactical System (LETS) were added to the charges.
Davis could face two to 20 years in prison for each of the 15 counts of ethics law violations [class B felonies], and up to five years imprisonment for each of the 25 counts of misuse of LETS information [unclassified felonies].
Authorities are not saying what the misuse charges entailed and said that there is no court date scheduled as of yet.
