BOULDER, Colo., April 26 2011 — A recently released prison inmate suspected of placing a crude bomb at a Colorado mall was arrested Tuesday in a Boulder supermarket, police said.

Earl Albert Moore, 65, was placed in FBI custody, The Denver Post reported. Kim Kobel, a spokeswoman for Boulder police, said the arrest was at a King Soopers market just before 7:30 a.m. but declined to give other details.

Investigators say Moore’s image was captured on security videotape at Southwest Plaza Mall Wednesday in the employee corridor where the pipe bomb was found.

The bomb, which did not detonate, was left at the mall on the 12th anniversary of the massacre at Columbine High School 2 miles away.

Moore, who once lived in Colorado, was paroled April 13 from a federal prison in Georgia, where he was serving a sentence for bank robbery in West Virginia.

The FBI said Tuesday investigators have found no evidence the bomb was linked to the Columbine shootings. A spokesman said Moore’s motive for traveling across the country immediately after his release from prison to place a bomb is unknown
