Debbie Ann Flores, address unknown, was charged with attempting to take a weapon from a peace officer, according to a probable cause affidavit. Flores’ bond was set at $10,000.
According to the affidavit:
Flores was approached by a police officer working security at Dillards in Sikes Senter, who suspected her of shoplifting.
The officer identified himself and tried to detain Flores, but she pulled her arm away and attempted to flee. After the officer tried again to detain Flores, she tried to punch him.
The officer attempted to handcuff Flores, then she threw another punch. She continued fighting after being forced to the ground.
While on the ground, Flores managed to slip her hand out of the handcuffs, stand up and reach for the officer’s weapon, the officer said. The officer pushed her hand away and Flores ran.
She was eventually detained by the officer and a mall security guard.
Flores was taken to the Wichita County Jail.
