WEST CARROLTON, Ohio June 21 2011– A former police officer that was arrested for shoplifting from a local department store has been sentenced to house arrest.
Joseph Purnell, 41, pleaded guilty to a theft charge, stemming from the incident in February when he took three DVDs, a CD and a Barbie activity kit. He was sentenced to one week of house arrest and a year of probation.
His wife, who was also part of the theft, is scheduled to go before a judge in July.
