LEROY NY Aug 24 2011—The former security guard at a LeRoy business faces a grand larceny charge after he allegedly stole materials valued at more than $3,000, Genesee County sheriff’s officials reported.

Tony R. Smith, 52, of Rochester, was arraigned on the charge Monday afternoon in Town Court and scheduled to return to court Sept. 6.

Deputies said Smith allegedly stole materials from PCORE Electric at 135 Gilbert St. sometime between May and July while he worked there as a security guard.
