Charlotte college police employee stabbed, shot at www.privateofficer.com

 

CHARLOTTE NC Sept 20 2011 - A college police department employee was stabbed and shot at on Saturday evening, police said in a report.

The worker, John Drakeford III, 38, is employed by campus police at Johnson C. Smith University and also works for Duke Energy Security, according to a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police report.

The incident happened just before 9 pm in the 8600 block of Rockmoor Road in Charlotte, police said.

“The suspect stabbed the victim in the chest,” police wrote in a report. “The suspect also shot the victim but missed.”

Drakeford was taken to CMC-University with “serious” wounds, the police report said.

The incident was classified as domestic violence and a person “within family” was listed as a suspect on the report.

Aishah McCallum-Drakeford, 41, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, assault by pointing a gun and discharging a weapon into occupied property.

McCallum-Drakeford is being held without bond in the Mecklenburg County Jail.
